Luckily, my Espanyol shirt of blue and white stripes could double as a pyjama top. And it felt quite surreal after having dinner and a late drink, then to go and watch the football in of all places a rented room in a casino, as the penya was being done up, What could be more appropriate as once again Espanyol’s defence were gambling on Mallorca not scoring. A sleepy defence, a clumsy midfield and a dopey attack. Anymore dwarfs to sign up, I wonder? Pottchetino needs a striker who can create goals, he also needs to play a system to suit the players he has. Of course for most teams, that’s what it’s about these days, using what you’ve got, beacuse we don’t have money to actually buy a player, good grief!
The new signings today seems to be paying a lump sum to borrow a player for a year.
Maybe with Simao they’ll have a bit more clout in attack and when (if) Sergio Garcia comes back they’ll look stronger. But it looks like another year of suffering, as it does with most teams, those who have little money, hardly anouhg to survive on.
