Iñigo Martinez

Having originally caught people’s attention with two goals from inside his own half, including a late winner in the Basque derby, Iñigo Martinez is now drawing attention for his consistently improving performances in Real Sociedad and Spain U21’s defence. Showing versatility along Sociedad’s back line, Barcelona were believed to have registered interest before agreeing a deal for Jordi Alba in the summer.

Despite having a contract until 2015, Martinez is one of La Real’s more gettable assets amongst their plethora of talented youngsters, with continued improvement its likely Barcelona won’t be the only team checking in during January.
