MIDFIELDERS

Andrés Iniesta (Barcelona): No doubt that FIFA got it right this time. Iniesta is clearly on that list of best among the best. He leads La Liga with 11 assists this season; nine of those assists have come in his last six games where he has recorded at least one assist. Iniesta has scored once this season and his performance in the last six games have certainly helped Barcelona in the absence of Cesc Fabregas.

Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona): Iniesta’s teammate Fabregas also makes our list of the best eleven in La Liga, although he is absent from that of FIFA’s. The former Arsenal skipper is having a great year at Barcelona having assisted nine goals while scoring five of his own. Cesc has proved to be hugely influential on the road where he has produced all Barca’s assists bar one as well as his goals.

Óscar González (Valladolid): The former Zaragoza leads La Liga midfielders in goals with seven. He has also made four assists and his participation in 45,83% of Valladolid goals in the best percentage in the league among midfielders.

Leo Baptistao (Rayo): One of the most popular name in La Liga right now, even Alex Ferguson’s brother Martin was recently spotted at Vallecas keeping an eye on him. Leo has a direct participation in 44% of Rayo’s goals, scoring six and assisting other five. Leo also leads midfielders in shots with 40 and at just 20, he has been one of the surprise packages of the season so far.
