D-Day in La Liga – Who is going to Europe and who is going down?

After 372 matches, 1029 goals and more joy and heartbreak to even remember, La Liga has reached its final day; and what a day it promises to be.

At the top, two teams; Malaga and Atletico Madrid can both still clinch the final Champions League spot which is currently occupied by Manuel Pellegrini’s Andalucians, while at the bottom five sides; Sporting, Zaragoza, Rayo, Villarreal and Granada are all fighting to avoid the drop into Spain’s second division.

It promises to be the most exciting single day in Spanish top flight football for a number of years and it is sure to provide twists and turns galore before the final whistles are blown around the grounds at approximately 2155 local time.

El Centrocampista will be covering the games live with regular updates and has a team of writers watching the matches that matter; including Heath Chesters live from Vallecas to watch Granada take on Rayo Vallecano.

The permutations are boundless and far too many to go into here, however on the next few pages we give you our thoughts on who will be heading into European football’s promised land, and who will be slipping down into the abyss of la Segunda.

We hope you enjoy the day and make sure you follow @iCentrocampista on Twitter to keep up to date on all the action!
