FC Barcelona: Five of the Next Generation from La Masia

 Alejandro Grimaldo

Age: 16

Credentials: Has come through the ranks with the Spanish national team at under 16, 17 and 19 age levels.

Grimaldo is regarded by many as a future defensive stalwart for Barcelona.  Unfortunately his side’s search for a left back came at the wrong time for him as he needs a couple more years to fully develop as a footballer.  However, in the not so distant future Barcelona’s new signing Jordi Alba will be looking over his shoulder as Grimaldo is expected to compete for a starting birth on a regular basis.

Future Barca first teamer?  For certain.  If he keeps developing his game he will be in the Barcelona side for many years to come.
