MAN UNITED STARLET IN BARÇA CLAIM

According to UK tabloid reports, Barcelona are monitoring the ongoing contract dispute between Manchester United and their promising youngster Ravel Morrison.

Given the tag of ‘wonder kid’ by many in the British press, Morrison is expected to be the next young talent to break through to the first team at Old Trafford.< But with his contract due to expire in the summer and his wage demands viewed as unrealistic by Sir Alex Ferguson and senior officials at Manchester United, it could well be that Morrison is looking for another club come June. “Some of Europe’s biggest clubs have shown genuine interest in him, including Barcelona, so it will be interesting to see what happens. He isn’t short of options.” The Daily Star quoted a source as saying. Despite his talent, Morrison has had a number of off-field problems, including a referral order last year for witness intimidation. And with the reigning European champions possessing a very successful youth set up that continues to churn out talent, it seems highly unlikely that the club will show any serious interest in taking the player to Catalunya.
