Javi Varas Sevilla to Celta Vigo
Newly promoted Celta Vigo know that they must keep a watertight defence if they are to stay in La Liga. They have managed to sign Sevilla shot stopper Javi Varas on a season-long loan in a surprise move – Varas was one of Sevilla’s top performers last season including a memorable display against Barcelona to earn a 0-0 draw at the Camp Nou, where he saved everything that came his way.
The signing of Diego Lopez at Sevilla meant that Varas was allowed to leave, and Celta now have a goalkeeper that has the ability to keep them in games – crucial for a team that will be battling relegation.
