DEFENDERS
Adriano (Barcelona): Dani Alves was named in the FIFA XI but it is his Brazilian teammate who is having a season to remember. Adriano tops the list of highest scoring defenders with five goals. Of those five goals the fullback has scored Barcelona’s opening goal on four occasions – proving himself key to Barça’s success this term.
Martin Demichelis (Málaga): The Argentinean Kaiser is commanding the best defence in La Liga so far and clearly deserves to be on this list. The 32-year-old has played in nine clean sheets of 60 minutes or more. He has also scored two goals and has the four best mark in the league in tackles with 58.
Juanfrán (Atlético): The Spanish international right back is having another great season in his newly-adopted position. Juanfrán has made three assists while playing in eight clean sheets. He has also made the third most interceptions with 53 and has the sixth best mark of tackles plus interceptions in the league with 94.
