The 17-year-old right back arrived at the Emirates Stadium last summer will fellow la Masia resident Jon Toral, shortly before Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas returned to Barcelona after eight years in England.

It was claimed by the MailONLINE that gunners boss Arsene Wenger had promised the youngster a fast-track into the Arsenal first team and now the club have confirmed that Bellerin signed his first professional contract on 1 July.

The Catalan played 20 games in the Premier Academy League and Premier Reserve League last season and impressed many with his attacking flair and technical ability.

So we’ll make him into a real star and in about four years time that arrogant Spanish club will start going on about DNA etc., etc. Unless UEFA actually start enforcing their own rules………shan’t hold my breath though.

There is something very odd about your logic or lack of same. If I’m reading this accurately, what you are implying is that it’s ok to poach a 16 year old from the club that has developed him during a critical develoment stage but it’s not ok if the player returns to his boyhood club as an adult? Presumably you base your case on Fabby who fits this mold. The profit Arsenal made on that transaction was staggering, wasn’t it?

This is what we do now. We are a selling club. Bring them in, teach them, play them for a year or two, sell them when one of the big clubs comes calling. Repeat ad nauseum.
