Everton look set to miss out on transfer target Mounir El Hamdaoui after it was reported the player’s agent is in Spain to finalise a move to Espanyol.
David Moyes had been linked with a move for the Dutch-born Moroccan international, however the Goodison Park side may now be forced to look elsewhere in the search to strengthen their squad.
Sources suggest a deal could be done within the next 24 hours, although the Ajax striker is yet to discuss personal terms.
Espanyol are looking to strengthen their push for a European place in La Liga, while Everton have struggled for goals this season and are languishing in the bottom half of the Barclays Premier League.
